POEM: My Second Father, My Uncle, My Friend by Emily Baty
Created by Anna & Jeff 14 years ago
My Second Father, My Uncle, My Friend
His hugs and laughs cured my broken hearts.
His advice and counsel - considerate, smart.
In my happiness, he'd also rejoice.
Be still, listen. You can still hear his voice
In each kind word, in each bird song,
His words spoken softly yet mighty, strong.
His sense of humor - unexpected, dry.
For rare birds, a watchful eye.
A gentle spirit one couldn't ignore.
His love for God and nature we all adore.
He put up the fight of his life
To stay here with daughter and wife.
A life cut too short, hard to comprehend.
My second father, my uncle, my friend.
I love you Stever! You will always have a piece of my heart! ~ Emily
