Windsor Water Board

2007

Created by Dan Evans 14 years ago
Dear Julie and Tayler, My name is Dan Evans. I worked with Steve for eight years at the City of Loveland. I was a Civil Engineer and my office was close to Steve's at the Service Center for 4 of those years. We shared a passion for CSU athletics and for the Windsor Wizards! As we have lived in Windsor since 2000, coached the WHS swimming boys team from 2003-8, and now our daughter attends WHS. In 2007, Steve approached me about applying to be on the Windsor Water Board. I kinda hemmed and hawed, but Steve persisted and told me just to apply...said it would be a good community service opportunity. So I did (guess that I won't get it because there would be someone more qualified), and to my dismay I got appointed! Needlesstosay, I had the pleasure of servicing the Board along with Steve for over a year until his resignation. I too resigned, a couple of months after Steve, because of a move overseas to New Zealand. We returned in July and Steve called and offer me a job working for him in Loveland. I had already accepted a job, but thanked him for the offer and we promised to get together and caught up. I know now to take someone up on offers like that sooner rather than later. I have recently, applied to get back on the Windsor Water&Sewer Board and am dedicating my new tenure on the Board in memory of Steve. I will think of him everytime I got a board meeting. And though, I will not be able to give the board the knowledge and experience Steve did...I will consider..."What would Steve do?" before every vote. I was blessed by being able to know Steve. We know grief, as we lost a child, 12 year ago. It is horrible, but there is a lot support in Northern Colorado. We got involved in Grief Share. It was very helpful to aid us in going through the steps of grief. Blessings, Dan Evans II COR 1
