Steven Clifford Birdsall, 50, of Windsor, Colorado passed away on November 12, 2009 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Steven was born on September 13, 1959 in Osage, Iowa to Weston & Anne Birdsall. He graduated from Osage High School 1978, and earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Colorado State University in 1987. He married Julie (Hartzell), the love of his life, on December 29, 1984.
Steven worked for Northern Engineering in the late ā80s, RBD Engineering in the ā90s, and City of Loveland Water Utility 1997-2009.
Steven was involved in Drum & Bugle Corps, and enjoyed jazz music, hiking, nature, bird watching, and building his dream home. He was an avid supporter of the Colorado State University RAMS athletics, and fan of Iowa and Iowa State College Football. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, and former board member of the Town of Windsor Water & Sewer Board.
Steven is preceded in death by sister, Susanne Baty. He is survived by wife, Julie; daughter, Tayler; parents Weston & Anne Birdsall; sister Sonne Nielsen (and Pat Doyle); brothers Scott (and Deb) Birdsall, and Shan (and Tammy) Birdsall; brother-in-law Corliss (Cork) Baty; 11 nephews and nieces; and countless friends, co-workers, and associates.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:30am Monday, November 16, 2009 at Redeemer Lutheran Church 7755 Greenstone Court, Fort Collins, CO 80525 with Pastor Tim Runtsch presiding. A lunch reception will immediately follow, at the church.
